Michael Wynn donates $25,000 to local nonprofit’s hurricane relief fund
FORT MYERS, Fla. (Feb. 2, 2023) – Sunshine Ace Hardware, a Naples-based, family-owned hardware and outdoor supplies store, provides a $25,000 donation to Captains For Clean Water’s (CFCW) program that benefits community relief.
CFCW, a Fort Myers-based nonprofit that advocates to restore Florida’s water resources, recently launched an Emergency Disaster Relief Fund in response to Hurricane Ian. This new program strengthens southwest Florida by employing impacted fishing guides for services that benefit the community’s recovery, including waterway cleanups, fishing charters for Hurricane Ian first responders, and research trips with science partners.
As a 7th generation Floridian, my family is not a stranger to hurricanes and the devastating impact they can have. After Ian, we saw how so many of the captains we serve as customers had their livelihood impacted as they tried to recover. We are proud to have dedicated a percent of the sales from our fishing and tackle business from the last quarter of 2022 to support CFCW's fund to help struggling captains get back on their feet,
said Michael Wynn, President of Sunshine Ace Hardware.
CFCW will be at Sunshine Ace Hardware’s 7th Annual Reel in the Sunshine free fishing exposition. The event will be located outside its Bonita Springs location at 9100 Bonita Beach Rd. from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4th. This exposition will feature raffle prizes, fishing apparel and guest speakers Benny Ortiz and Captain Chris Argiro.
100% of donations to the Emergency Disaster Relief Fund go toward community relief and recovery efforts, visit here to learn more or to give to the fund. Eligible fishing guides can apply for the program here and eligible Hurricane Ian first responders can sign up for charters here.
