WHAT: Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation, Captains For Clean Water, and the Conservancy of Southwest Florida will be holding a press conference to discuss the findings of a new study executed by Greene Economics, which quantifies the economic impacts of harmful water-quality events and degraded water quality on the southwest Florida economy. The study also highlights how good water quality has a positive economic impact and that projects and policies that improve water quality will pay off through a more robust economy.

WHERE: The press conference will take place at Doc Ford’s Fort Myers Beach, located at 708 Fishermans Wharf, Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931. Event will be held on the back deck of the restaurant overlooking Matanzas Pass, with indoor space available in case of rain. On-site parking is available.
NOTE: Speakers will make approximately 15 minutes of prepared remarks about the study’s findings as well as the importance of recognizing the link between water quality and southwest Florida’s economy. Additional time will be reserved for press Q&A.
